Ass-vertising

Ass-vertising

Back in 2004 ads started showing up on people's bohonkuses - a phenomenon invented by Night Agency in Manhattan. They dubbed it "assvertising," and thought it was the perfect way to advertise New York Health and Racquet Club's new exercise class "Booty Call." They dispatched a team of hot, young guys and girls in Times Square. They repeatedly pulled down their pants and lifted their skirts, flashing their butts. An ad for "Booty Call," was ironed onto their undies.

They even got a website for Ass-vertise.

According to this website, all you need to do is to put logo or whatever message you want on on the seat of a pair of bikini style panties.

Here is step-by-Step on how to do Ass-vertisement:

( Note: all pics are taken from Ass-vertise website! )

Step one:

Hire pretty gals ( or guys ) with nice butt of course! Then ask them to walk on the location where you think you target market is.

Step two:

When they see some potential client, they will "SHOW" them their "Ads"

Kodak Assvertising

Assvertising was so great you knew it would be copied. Who knew Kodak would be the one to stoop so low? That's like butterscotch-giving-grandpa hitting on your girlfriend - and stealing her (true story). Apparently, Kodak used the derriere media placement during a photo convention in Kiev, Ukraine. At least two hot women were hired to wear ridiculously short mini skirts with Kodak logoed panties underneath and then drops things on the convention floor and pick them up.  It's so off-brand one is inclined to think its an unauthorized effort by a sub promo company. If so, someone should spank them. Crass sexuality seems to be a particularly Russian obsession, like the company that forced its top female managers to pose in a nude calendar distributed to its clients.

Braun's Leggy Advertising - Inventive Marketing

Braun Silk-Epil Epilators are best known as razors which give women silky smooth legs for up to four weeks.

To inform the public of the product without using traditional advertising, helium balloons were tied to a model's skirt, leaving only her legs exposed as she walked around the mall. The Braun branding was written on the balloons.

While, as you can see in the picture, it is a little creepy looking, it definitely appeared to be entertaining and, apparently, effective. Traffic to the store increased around 25%.

Bustop: Skirt

Bustop is a lingerie shop. If I understand the ad correctly it's a vertical banner of about 2 stories high. It has a printed banner with a cloths attached to it which probably either moves by the wind or some strings are attached to it and is blown away once in a while.

New Pretty Polly Legs

PRETTY POLLY HAS favoured celebrity models for the past few years – think the Sugababes, Jamelia and Rachel Stevens – but this season has opted to go back to its roots and has chosen Polish model Anna Torkarska instead. Already a favourite on the world's runways, Anna, or 'baby Uma' as she's been dubbed within the industry, stars in the new "Stairway to Heaven" campaign, which is unveiled on billboards across the country this week, wearing Pretty Polly's Pret a Party chocolate brown fishnet tights. Vodka Ad Too Sexy for Buses, Okay for Taxis

Source: pollsb.com

“There is nothing wrongwith these ads on taxis,” said Martin Silver, president and CEO of Star Industries, which distributes Georgi vodka. “I hope that these ads are a hit and that Mayor Bloomberg and MTA just ‘butt out’ of our business.”

But Kanta Singh, a 42-year-old Empire State Building supervisor from Queens, said the ads are not appropriate for kids.

“I wouldn’t want my children looking at these ads,” said Singh. “This is why I’m scared to take my kids into the city because I fear that they may see images like these on taxis.”

The advertisement could be considered run-of-the-mill these days: Beside the word "Georgi" in bright yellow block letters is a close-up of the backside of a woman wearing a string-bikini. Her skin is dusted with sand, as if she has just risen from a short rest at the beach. A bottle of vodka is superimposed next to her; the word "Georgi" is written in green letters on the bikini bottom.

"Georgi, The First Name In Vodka," it beckons.

Similar ads are found at beach resorts and in clothing catalogs. Scantily clad women, it is commonly thought, are powerful, albeit blunt, ammunition for companies competing for the youth market.
